About this event
Extreme weather has made responsible water resource management more important than ever.
During recent hurricanes neighborhoods have flooded. Now, according to the latest numbers from the U.S. Drought Monitor, 67.4% of the state is experiencing extreme drought, including all of Sarasota County.
Our water supply is depleted and water usage restrictions are in effect. And yet, development continues at a rapid pace, creating even more demand for water while paving over the permeable soils needed to replenish our underground water supply.
Jono Miller and Julie Morris, longtime conservationists and environmental activists will share the efforts underway to preserve our most precious resource.
