About this event

Amendment 3: What Would It Mean for Sarasota County?

The League of Women Voters and Suncoast Searchlight will host a panel discussion on Amendment 3 to help voters understand what’s at stake as they prepare to make their voices heard.

Paying less property tax sounds great - but what could it mean for funding local services?

The proposed amendment would increase the homestead property tax exemption for all levies except those imposed by local school boards. It also limits the ability of counties and municipalities to make local funding decisions.

Panelists include Holly Bullard - Florida Policy Institute, Chief
Scott Titus -North Port Fire Rescue District, and Dave Bullock – former interim city manager for Sarasota.
