Recent redistricting has significantly reshaped Congressional District 16. Manatee County remains in the district, but the portion of Hillsborough County previously included has been removed. The district now encompasses all of DeSoto and Hardee Counties, the southern tip of St. Petersburg, and parts of Sarasota County.
This New 2026 16th Congressional District affects approximately 48,000 Sarasota County voters who were previously in CD 17 and will now be in CD 16. Voters who are affected by the new map will receive an updated voter information card in the mail prior to the start of the August 18 Primary Election period. Voters with questions about the new congressional map may call the Sarasota Supervisor of Elections office at 941.861.8619.
