Tallahassee, Fla. — What started out as a small group of Citrus County citizens turned into a strong and vibrant League of Women Voters of Citrus County. 
 
The League of Women Voters of the United States announced today that all requirements have been met and the official designation as a full League had been awarded.
 
Pamela S. Goodman, President of the LWV Florida noted that, “The LWV Citrus County’s hard work and commitment to good government and voting rights for the people of Citrus County has been remarkable. This official designation only certifies the many accomplishments made to date.” Goodman continued, “I know that Kate and her leadership team will keep fighting the good fight and educating citizens about policy issues as well as registering voters across the region.”
 
Kathleen “Kate” Betsko, President of the LWV Citrus County said, “This is an historic moment for our members and for the community. We are proud to be a part of the largest civic organization with no ties to any political party, and we are committed to continuing the work of those who came before us.”
