Quick update from the Senate’s Amendment 1 debate today:
1- We made a small step forward in the right direction.
2- It only happened because of your calls.
3- We have more work to do!

Now, the details:
The Senate unanimously passed an amendment by Sen. Rob Bradley that increases funding for Florida Forever from $2 million to $15 million, and earmarks $20 million of the $50 million in springs funding for land acquisition to protect springs.
While this may not feel like a huge victory, it is a significant step forward in the legislative budget process. YOU have changed the tone of the land preservation debate in Tallahassee for the better!
This progress would not have happened without your amazing outpouring of activism. Many many senators commented on the calls they’ve been getting. They hear you and they are beginning to listen!
We have to keep up the good work and keep pressing them to do the right thing! We’re grateful to our Florida Forever champions in the senate today: Senators Thad Altman, Darren Soto, Arthenia Joyner, Jeff Clemens, Maria Sachs, and Senator Rob Bradley!
